Born in Bordeaux, Marie Marcon took her first steps in classical dance before joining the Conservatoire Régional de Bordeaux where she studied contemporary dance. She is then admitted to the Conservatoire Régional de Lyon, where she obtained her final degree in contemporary dance. At the same time, it was in a performance hall that she discovered hip-hop dance. This rich and multiple culture will be part of her identity to complement contemporary dance. She draws from breakdance and standing dances energies and aesthetics that nourish and shape her dance.
Self-taught thereafter, she explores and deepens these different influences, finds a link to create her own body language. She began her career as an interpreter by joining the troupe of the musical Robin des Bois in 2013 in Paris. After an experience of 6 months, she left this project to work in a company to get closer to her artistic sensibility.
She was then part of the Talents Adami Danse 2014 for the creation “BLISS” by Compagnie Rêvolution. Then subsequently worked with various choreographers such as Carlotta Ikeda, Anthony Egéa, Amine Boussa, Andrew Skeels, François Lamargot, Sandrine Lescourant alias Mufasa, Jann Gallois and David Drouard.
Currently she choreographs and collaborates with the French musician and composer Abraham alias Tismé on their very first choreographic creation entitled “AGE”. An immersive show on the theme of old age, produced by our company. Marie is also beginning to develop an artistic and human approach around dance movement in medical structures with so-called “specific” audiences. Rich in these experiences around disability, autism and psychotic illnesses, she wishes to continue this process to link it to her creation. Listening to her instincts, Marie is in a constant quest for evolution, novelty and sincerity in order to constantly renew her art.
